Warriors top Hawks for 11th win Rockwell, Goodall, Nadeau score goals for Southern Aroostook

DYER BROOK – Janel Rockwell broke a 2-2 tie with a goal with about 10 minutes left in the game to lead the Southern Aroostook Warriors to a 3-2 schoolgirl soccer win over the Hodgdon Hawks Friday.

Liz Goodall and Rochelle Nadeau scored first-half goals for the 11-1-1 Warriors. Brittany Charette provided an assist. Emily Cummings and Mallory Lawlor combined for one save on five shots.

Dana Tidd and Chelsea Sloat scored for 5-5-1 Hodgdon. Karriann Estabrook assisted Sloat’s goal. Taylor Hovey turned away five of 19 shots.

Woodland 2, Washington Acad. 2

At Woodland, Taylor Cochran of Woodland and Washington Academy’s Mara Lookabaugh didn’t allow a goal through two overtimes as the Dragons and Raiders tied.

Molly White scored two goals with the tying goal coming with 7:35 left in regulation. Hope Howard assisted White’s first goal. Cochran turned away 12 of 25 shots for the 6-3-2 Dragons.

Jana Espling and Andi Flannery scored for 9-1-1 Washington Academy of East Machias. Lookabaugh saved nine of 22 shots.

Narraguagus 3, Shead 2

At Harrington, Samantha Baker had a goal and an assist as Narraguagus held onto a 3-1 lead to defeat Shead of Eastport.

Kayla Collora and Kelsey Radley also scored for 2-8-1 Narraguagus. Beth Rofe saved five of 10 shots.

Cassie Barnes and Robyn Stuart scored for 3-8 Shead. Gabryelle Jackson assisted Stuart’s goal. Cassandra Stanhope turned away seven of 10 shots.

Searsport 3, GSA 2 (OT)

At Searsport, Kali Berenyi scored all three goals including the winner with 50 seconds left in overtime to lead Searsport past George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

All of Berenyi’s goals were unassisted. Sara Bradshaw saved 23 of 31 shots for 9-1-1 Searsport.

Roz Brokaw and Coral O’Brien scored for 9-2-1 George Stevens. Dorian Curtin assisted O’Brien’s goal. Hannah Van der Eb turned away 15 of 24 shots.

Foxcroft 4, Central 1

At Corinth, Ali Adkins scored two first-half goals to lead Foxcroft Academy past Central.

Lauren Kousaie had a first half goal and Shee-Ann Sergeant scored a second-half goal for 5-5-1 Foxcroft. Sarah Whittemore saved 11 of 14 shots.

Hannah Pray scored an unassisted goal in the second for 2-11 Central. Shari Shina turned away eight of 12 shots.

Van Buren 1, Ashland 0

At Van Buren, Jennifer Ouellette scored on a direct kick with 10:29 left in the first half to lead Van Buren past Ashland.

Freshman Ashlie Wilson saved all 17 shots for the 8-4 Crusaders.

Taylor Baker made nine saves on 10 shots for 9-2-1 Ashland.

East Grand 5, Wisdom 0

At St. Agatha, Tishena Roy and Kelsey Daoust each had two goals and an assist to lead East Grand of Danforth past Wisdom.

Shawna Beaudoin scored an unassisted goal for 2-9 East Grand. Courtney Lloyd saved nine of 17 shots.

Suzie Collins made eight saves on 16 shots for 0-12 Wisdom.

Boys soccer

Wisdom 11, East Grand 1

At St. Agatha, Kody Chamberland scored four goals and assisted on another as Wisdom defeated East Grand of Danforth.

Kurtis Daigle added three goals and an assist for the 6-5-1 Pioneers. Rocky Chamberland scored twice. Chris Ouellette had a goal and an assist and Ryan Blanchette added a goal. Kurtis Collins saved three of five shots.

Abe Brittain scored an unassisted goal in the second half for the 0-12 Vikings. East Grand goalies combined for 15 saves on 35 shots.

Ashland 6, Van Buren 0

At Van Buren, Jeremy Tarr and Tony Baker scored two goals apiece as Ashland shut out Van Buren.

Kenny Tarr and Lucas Hafford also scored for the 8-5 Hornets. Tyler Condon recorded two assists. Bobby Gardner saved three of four shots.

Jordan Banks turned away nine of 16 shots for 1-10-1 Van Buren.

So. Aroostook 7, Hodgdon 0

At Dyer Brook, Tyler Robinson and Dylan Willette scored two goals apiece to lift Southern Aroostook over Hodgdon.

Gary Sutherland, Phil Harris and Dave Dubois scored for the 7-4-1 Warriors. Dakota Sleeper provided three assists and Stephen Grant had two assists. Dillon Boulier stopped four of five shots.

Eric Ryan recorded eight saves on 25 shots for 3-9 Hodgdon.

Calais 6, Jonesport-Beals 1

At Calais, Josh Gillespie scored two goals and assisted on another as Calais beat Jonesport-Beals.

Fabrizio Soberanis, Jeff Johnston, Adam Geel and Dylan Ramsdell scored for 9-3-1 Calais. Jeremy Beers assisted on Ramsdell’s goal. Jordan Leeman saved 13 of 14 shots.

Matt Alley scored an unassisted goal in the second half for 0-14 Jonesport-Beals. Codie Thistlewood made 12 saves on 18 shots.

Shead 2, Woodland 1

At Eastport, Tommy Pottle scored the winner 24:37 into the second half just inside the upper right corner to lead Shead to victory over Woodland.

Pottle also scored the first goal on a penalty kick in the first half for 5-5 Shead. Tyler Mitchell saved 12 of 13 shots.

Brad Arthurs scored an unassisted goal in the second half to tie it at 1-1. Todd Wormell stopped nine of 17 shots for 7-4-1 Woodland.

Ellsworth 3, John Bapst 0

At Bangor, Andrew Austin scored just 50 seconds into the game off a Patrick Kelley assist to lead Ellsworth past John Bapst.

Matt Duhaime added a second-half goal with an assist from Garrett Kaspala. Zach Emeigh added an unassisted goal. Jordan Carter saved three of six shots for 10-1-1 Ellsworth.

Casey Hull and Mike Keim combined for 11 saves on 14 shots for 5-2 John Bapst.

Medomak 2, Oak Hill 1

At Waldoboro, Zach Genthner scored the winner off a Joaquin Perez assist with 2:38 left in the second half to lift Medomak Valley over Oak Hill of Sabattus.

Brian Sweeney tied it on a penalty kick with 19:25 remaining in regulation for the 10-2 Panthers. Caleb Thompson saved three of five shots.

Adam Soucy gave the 6-4-2 Raiders the lead on a penalty kick with 3:01 left in the first. Glenn Allen turned away seven of 15 shots.

JV: Medomak 3-1

MDI 3, Caribou 2

At Caribou, Dennis O’Neil broke up a 1-1 tie after halftime with two second-half goals to lead Mount Desert Island of Bar Harbor to victory over Caribou.

Abe Gladstone scored in the first half for 6-5-1 MDI. Iz Ward stopped six of 10 shots.

Seth Sager scored in the first off an Ethan McDuffie assist for 7-3-2 Caribou. Nate Rossignol had an unassisted goal in the second. Eric Brown saved 10 of 17 shots.

Field hockey

Dexter 3, Foxcroft 0

At Dexter, Dexter scored three first-half goals as the Tigers shut out Foxcroft Academy.

Jess Mason scored two goals to lead the 12-0 Tigers. Olivia Gardner also scored. Cally Mountain, Claire Wyman and Criss Mountain recorded assists. Junior Sam Conway stopped four of five shots to earn her sixth shutout.

Cassie Curtis and Lexi Turner-Bragan combined to save seven of 11 shots for 10-3 Foxcroft Academy.

JV: 1-1

Mount View 4, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Thorndike, Alonia Horton, Allison Tsomides and Cassandra St. Clair each had a goal and an assist to lead Mount View past Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

Makayla Dyke also scored for the Mustangs and Sunny Bantle provided an assist. Juni Garvin didn’t face a shot.

Erin Dodge stopped 15 of 19 shots for Lincoln Academy.

John Bapst 1, Orono 0

At Bangor, Emily Tilton scored the winner off a Shannon O’Connor assist with 11:59 left in the second half to lead John Bapst past Orono.

Megan Smith saved four of six shots for the 5-6-1 Crusaders.

Amber Saucier stopped five of eight shots for 4-9 Orono.

JV: Orono 3-1
