BANGOR – Though some motorists did a double-take when they saw it in front of Hollywood Slots, a sign announcing a weeklong closure beginning Monday applies only to Hollywood Slots Hotel and Raceway’s valet parking service.

The valet parking service will be closed through next Monday to allow work crews to remove a section of curbing from the section of Main Street that lies directly in front of the valet parking entrance, General Manager Jon Johnson said Monday.

Motorists entering Hollywood Slots through that entrance have had to drive over that curb on their way in, he said.

Johnson said the rest of the gaming and hotel operation will be open during regular business hours.
