BREWER – Brewer Youth Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” the musical version of the classic fairy tale, at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18, and Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 23-25, at Brewer Middle School.
Originally written by the Broadway pair as a television vehicle for Julie Andrews in 1957, the show has had two other video incarnations, most recently starring Whitney Houston and Brandy Norwood.
BYT’s cast features Tess McLaughlin as Cinderella, Jamie Bartol as the Prince, Erin Mills as the Stepmother, Erika Cote and Kate Weigel as the stepsisters and Jewels Watson as the Fairy Godmother.
Anthony Severance and Jillian McNally are the King and Queen; Rachel Caron the Narrator; Lauryn Goodall, Brianna Philbrick and Angela Patterson are the Ladies-In-waiting; Kyle Holyoke is the King’s Steward, Rachel Sibley the Herald and Brian Vallance plays the Chef.
Rounding out the ensemble with multiple roles as townspeople are Alek Sayers, Nikola Stojanovic, Kristian Joliat, Brett Alexander, Denise Applin, Christy Bruton, Hope Eye, Cliff Hahn, Emily Irvine, Catelyn Kimball, Ambureen Rana, Kenzie Smith, Kaileigh Tremble, Mandie Umel and Kate Wypyski.
Rich Kimball directs the production with musical direction by Clayton W. Smith, set design by Jamie and Jim Bartol, and costumes by Marcia Bartol and Melanie Moore. Abby Hayward is the production stage manager.
