BANGOR – Local police issued a statewide bulletin Friday asking fellow law enforcement agencies and the public to be on the lookout for a 62-year-old Bangor man who has been missing since Oct. 6.
Dwight Fahey, a resident of Pearl Street, was reported missing by his wife, Sylvia Fahey, on Thursday, according to Detective Sgt. Chip Hodges of the Bangor Police Department.
Sylvia Fahey told officers that her husband has gone missing before, but that he usually has returned home or been located within a few days. The detective said the missing man’s wife said that on different occasions in the past, Fahey has been found sleeping in his car in Brewer, Newport and Augusta.
As of Friday, Fahey had been missing for 11 days.
According to the police report, Fahey is a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 250 pounds, and has white hair and hazel eyes. Though he has lost his driver’s license because of illness, he left home in his blue 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, which has a Maine disabled veteran’s license plate No. 2598.
Fahey has been a patient at Togus VA Medical Center and suffers from a variety of illnesses, including diabetes, sleep apnea and memory loss. He requires insulin, oxygen and several seizure medications but is not believed to have any of those items with him, according to the police report.
Anyone who has seen Fahey or his vehicle should call the Bangor Police Department at 947-7384.
