Bangor man arrested twice at same location

A 22-year-old Bangor man was arrested twice in two days for visiting the same Essex Street apartment.

Bangor police initially arrested Eric Leo Ducas, 22, early Sunday morning after he forced his way into an apartment occupied by two women and assaulted one of them, Lt. Mark Hathaway said Monday.

According to Hathaway, city police officers went to the Essex Street apartment building, where Ducas also resides, after the two women reported he was trying to break in.

After determining Ducas was not wanted there, police officers arrested him and charged him with burglary, assault and criminal mischief for damage to a door and to the interior of the apartment, Hathaway said.

Ducas, who made bail Monday, was back behind bars that evening after returning to the women’s apartment, which was a violation of a condition of his release.

Ducas was being held without bail Monday night, pending a court appearance today, Hathaway said. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

In another arrest by Bangor police, a 33-year-old local man faces multiple charges after trying to obtain more pain pills than his prescription allowed.

Eric Leon Raymond allegedly was given a prescription when he complained of pain while visiting a Bangor hospital Monday morning. He is accused of altering that prescription before submitting it to a local pharmacy, Lt. Mark Hathaway said Monday.

Raymond was charged with forgery, acquiring drugs by deception and violating the conditions of his bail from a previous unrelated incident. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Monday night. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
