MACHIAS – A meeting for people who are raising a relative’s children is planned for next week.

Sponsored by Family Connections, the meeting will include information and the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation.

It will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 46 Court St.

Family Connections is a joint project of Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine and Families and Children Together.

The project provides legal, educational and financial information as well as training and family activities for grandparents, aunts and uncles who are stepping in to care for a relative’s child.

Family Connections has regular meetings in Bangor, Machias, Dover-Foxcroft, Cornish and Westbrook.
