ORONO – University of Maine field hockey players Nicole Emery of Winthrop and Maire Dineen have been named to the America East All-Academic Team while freshman Kelly Newton was named to the Womensfieldhockey.com National All-Rookie Team.

Senior captain Emery maintained a 3.80 grade point average while majoring in kinesiology and physical education.

Dineen, a sophomore midfielder, has a 3.97 grade point average in international affairs and economics. Her grade point average is the highest among the 11 selected for the All-Academic team.

Newton was the 208 America East Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-America East selection. She led the conference with 1.67 goals per game.
