PORTLAND – A Maine group has joined in the call to ban cluster bombs around the world.
Peace Action Maine said the U.S. should join other countries that have signed a treaty calling for the elimination of cluster bombs.
Ninety-three nations signed a treaty banning cluster bombs Thursday. Some of the world’s top military powers – including the U.S. – refused to attend the Oslo event, arguing cluster bombs have legitimate military uses, such as repelling troop columns.
