AUGUSTA — The Department of Human Services and the state Attorney General’s Office announced Monday that Penobscot County District Court presented a judgment for $7,450 and a civil penalty of $500 against a Burlington employer in a case involving withholding child support.

The DHS had tried without success to collect child support from Claude M. Carr of Burlington since 1991.

Carr was employed by Bradbury Logging Inc., which was under an order to withhold part of Carr’s wages.

The company failed to withhold and deliver any part of the wages, and claimed that Carr had not worked there since 1991, said DHS Commissioner Kevin W. Concannon and Attorney General Andrew Ketterer.
