UNH handles Black Bears

ORONO – Bonnie Wilson piled up 13 kills and added 12 digs to lead the University of New Hampshire to a 30-25, 30-26, 30-25 women’s volleyball win over the University of Maine at Memorial Gymnasium on Wednesday.

Alyson Coler added 11 kills and 10 digs and Jen Williams had 13 digs for New Hampshire, which improves to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in America East play.

The Black Bears were led by Leah Voss, who had 14 kills and 11 digs. Claire Poliquin added 11 kills for 10-10 (4-4) UMaine.

Women’s soccer

Husson 3, UM-Machias 0

At Bangor, Kerry Tuck scored a goal with an assist from Katy Calligan helping give 10-6 Husson the win.

Sam Scott scored on a pass from Tina Tobin while Melissa Alwin scored with assists from Beatrice DeYcaza. Meg Taylor made one save on one shot.

Tricia Farrell stopped 18 of 32 shots for the 12-3 University of Maine at Machias.

Men’s soccer

Bowdoin 2, Bates 0

At Lewiston, David Bulow scored two goals to lead 9-3-1 Bowdoin to victory.

Patrick Bracewell and Bart McMann recorded assists while Travis Derr made four saves for the shutout.

Dan Spector stopped five shots for 6-5-2 Bates.
