A single-engine Cessna crashed in a densely wooded area in Templeton, Mass., late Saturday after the pilot reported engine trouble, police said. No one was injured.
The pilot, Lawrence Bean, 33, of Saco was the only person aboard.
The accident occurred about 7:50 p.m., after Bean reported engine problems as he flew over the area. It was not immediately clear where the plane took off from or where it was headed.
The plane, which was extensively damaged, was owned by Coastal Aviation of Biddeford, police said.
After the crash, Bean was able to walk to a road, where he was picked up by police. The crash is under investigation.
