BANGOR – The John Bapst Crusaders used a second-half surge on both sides of the ball to record a 33-9 high school football victory over the Dexter Tigers Saturday night at Cameron Stadium.
Senior tailback Ben Pratt powered the Crusader ground attack, rushing for 138 yards and three touchdowns, including an 84-yard kickoff return in the first quarter.
John Bapst also picked off quarterback Brock Kimball four times. Mike Brockett, Jeremy Robichaud, Ben Pratt, and Seth Tremble all collected an interception apiece for the winners.
Kimball ended the day with 80 yards passing and a touchdown. He connected with Nick Thibodeau on a 55-yard pass play for Dexter’s only touchdown of the game.

Winslow 49, Hampden 28
At Winslow, senior quarterback Rueben Lemelin completed 10 of 15 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns and the Black Raiders gained 370 yards rushing en route to the win over the Broncos.
Joel Fernald caught scoring passes of 15 and 26 yards for Winslow while Brian Jurdak and Jayson Lizzotte scored on runs of 50 and 67 yards, respectively.
For Hampden, Ben LaGasse rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries while Chris Bushnell picked up 101 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Dustin Campbell completed 5 of 12 throws for 119 yards.

At Skowhegan, Gardiner had the ball on the 1-foot line before time expired to end the game in Skowhegan’s favor.
The Indians built a 22-0 lead early before the Tigers charged back to take a 35-29 lead with 5:11 to play. Skowhegan took the lead for good on a 1-yard plunge by quarterback Danny Coombs and Adam Whitmore’s extra-point kick.
Whitmore paced Skowhegan with 100 yards rushing and a touchdown.

At Rockland, junior quarterback Travis Cummings accounted for four touchdowns to lead Stearns of Millinocket.
Cummings completed 5-of-7 throws for 84 yards and two touchdowns and he scored on runs of 1 and 16 yards. Joe Lyons rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown.
For Rockland, Don Williams scored on a 6-yard run.

Jason St. Peter and Dan Funk combined to stop 12 of 15 shots in goal for 4-2-2 Caribou.
John Bapst 2, Central 0
At Bangor, Guy Delvecchio scored on a Richard Fournier assist and Chad Wong scored on a penalty kick to lift Crusaders.
Bapst is now 2-3-1, while Central fell to 2-4.
John Jones had 13 saves on 15 shots for Bapst and Nat Parent had six saves on 11 shots for Central.
Ellsworth 3, Orono 1
In Ellsworth, Darby Higgins scored two goals in the first period to push the Eagles past the Red Riots and improve to 6-0.
Higgins scored his first goal off a Mike Hangge assist and his second goal off a Jack Leyendecker assist.
Tim Cox scored with 12 minutes left in the game to ice the win.
Gonzalo Garcia scored for Orono.
Ryan Conley stopped three of six shots for Ellsworth, while Scott Cunningham had five saves on 12 shots for Orono.
Islesboro 5, DI-Stonington 2
At Islesboro, Josh Conover scored two goals to lead the Eagles to the win.
Ian Gallant, Derek Johnson and Tracy Wuori each added a goal for Islesboro, now 3-1. Steve Shand made 21 saves on 25 shots.
For Deer Isle-Stonington, now 0-4-1, Peter Klemez and Andy Easton each scored a goal. Andy Bye made 17 saves on 21 shots.
Presque Isle 6, Brewer 1
At Brewer, Jeremy Brooks spearheaded a Wildcat offensive assualt on the Witches with two goals and one assist.
Aaron Madore, Kyle Folsom, Ryan Saucier, and Travis Mastro all had goals for 4-4-2 Presque Isle. Goalie Gene Cronin made five saves on eight shots.
Andy Thomas scored for 2-4 Brewer and goalie Ben Tardiff rejected 18 of 33 shots.
Girls soccer
Hampden 2, Caribou 1
At Caribou, the combination of Lindsey Dilts and Katie Fraser hooked up twice to lift the 3-2-1 Broncos past the 4-4 Vikings.
Dilts was the on the receiving end twice from Fraser with the game-winner coming with 3:34 left in the first half. Goalie Sarah Farnhoffer stopped 12 of 20.
Jessica Griffeth scored for Caribou off a pass from Jenn Corey. Goalie Meghan Lombard made 15 saves on 20 shots.
Mattanawcook 2, Central 1
At Lincoln, Heather Tolman scored unassisted at 4:50 into overtime to push the Lynx of Lincoln past the Red Devils of East Corinth.
Emily Stupak opened the scoring with an unassisted goal for Central. With 10 minutes left in the second period, Candace Saboo evened the score with a goal for Mattnawcook.
Angie Brawn stopped three of five shots for the winners. Jen Greaterox had seven saves on 14 shots for Central.

Dexter 3, Bangor 0
At Bangor, Sarah Robbins had two goals and an assist to lead Dexter.
Beth McKisck scored for Dexter off a Robbins assist.
Nancy Batchelder stopped three of four shots for Dexter. Julie Malmstrom had 25 saves on 29 shots for Bangor.
Belfast 1, Waterville 1
At Belfast, Erin Dutch scored a goal at 20:12 of the second half to tie the game up and help the Lions gain a tie.
Renee Box made 11 saves on 12 shots for Belfast, now 3-1-1.
For Waterville, now 4-1-1, Nicole Nadeau scored the goal and Amy Champagne made 15 stops on 16 shots.
