Head Start groups to get USDA food

Action Opportunities Inc. has announced that Head Start and Day Care Center and Day Care Homes will participate in the USDA Child Care Food Program. Children being served will receive meals or supplements at no extra charge.

Children may receive free or reduced-price reimbursements if family size and income is equal to or less than published guidelines available at the centers.

Monthly income ranges from $969 for one-child families to $3,278 for those with eight children. Those with more than eight children should add $330 to the $3,278 monthly income for each additional child.

Centers participating include: Bar Harbor Head Start/Day Care; Bucksport Head Start; Eastport Head Start; Ellsworth Head Start/Day Care; Lake Region Head Start; Lubec Head Start; Machias Valley Head Start; Mooseabec Head Start; St. Croix Head Start; Stonington Head Start; Sullivan Head Start; Darlene Allen Family Day Care Home, Blue Hill; Doris Gaskill Family Day Care Home, Bar Harbor; Carolyn Gray Family Day Care Home, Orland; Susan Kelley Family Day Care Home, Salsbury Cove; Corrine Pert Family Day Care Home, Blue Hill; Carolyn Smart Family Day Care Home, Ellsworth; Linda Wilson Family Day Care Home, Bucksport; Patti Wuori Family Day Care Home, Ellsworth.
