GREENVILLE — Trustees of Shaw Public Library are seeking donations to help finance computer accessibility to the Internet. Patrons would be allowed to use the service free of charge.
Earlier library projects, including roof replacement and work on the building’s exterior, have cost more than $15,000, leaving little money to fund the Internet project.
The equipment is expected to cost about $9,000, although trustees solicited and received a $2,000 grant, leaving $7,000 to be raised locally.
Librarian Karen Chandler has contacted local service organizations and leading businesses to solicit help raising funds.
Donations may be sent to Shaw Public Library, P.O. Box 510, Greenville 04441, attention librarian Karen Chandler.
