Thank you, Channel 7, for sharing the Bangor Symphony Orchestra-Robinson Ballet “Nutracker” with us on Dec. 21. The temporary blackout during the program was a disappointment, but a reminder of how important it is for our community to have access to the local artistic productions on which so many of our neighbors labor with love.
It was similarly pleasurable to see the presentations of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra concerts earlier in the fall. The concert hall can accommodate some of the music lovers of eastern Maine, but the extension of these performances to homebound elderly, to others whose schedules do not allow attendance at concert time, and to children who may not otherwise have access to sugar plum fairies is a community service for which we are grateful. We hope Channel 7’s New Year’s resolutions include the continuation of this service, and that local businesses will support this enrichment of our community life. Stanley L. Freeman Orono
