Adult education classes slated at Houlton center

HOULTON – The following activities are being offered at the Houlton Higher Education Center:

. SAD 29/70 Adult Education announces classes, Intro to Windows and Intro to Internet, to meet Thursdays, Nov. 29 to Dec. 13. Windows will meet from 3to 5:30 p.m., while Internet will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Each class has a $30 fee and the instructor is Randy Amero. . Improving “first teacher” skills will be offered to parents from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in Room 111 by New Books New Readers. The topic discussed by illustrator and author Susan York will be friendship. Readers at all levels are encouraged to attend this first session to benefit from the book discussions, and attendees will receive free children’s books. New Books New Readers is a program of the Maine Humanities Council and SAD 29/70 Adult Education. For more information, please call 521-3154.

. Registration at the Houlton Higher Education Center/Northern Maine Technical College is underway for the spring term beginning Jan. 14. College registration forms can be picked up at the center on Military Street. For more information, call Otis Smith at 521-3154.
