Sherman man indicted for pot cultivation Growing site allegedly booby-trapped

CARIBOU – A Sherman man who allegedly booby-trapped his marijuana growing operation was indicted Friday by the Aroostook County grand jury on charges stemming from a drug raid in September.

Jeff Mitchell, 28, was indicted on charges of aggravated marijuana cultivation, reckless conduct with a firearm and criminal forfeiture.

Mitchell allegedly rigged a shotgun with the hammer cocked in the firing position in a tree in such a way that would have caused it to discharge had someone entered an area behind his Gallison Road home where he allegedly was growing marijuana.

Agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency seized 16 marijuana plants in three locations behind Mitchell’s house. More marijuana and another shotgun also were found inside the house.

Shane Nibby, 19, Presque Isle, burglary.

Brain Hall, 21, Presque Isle, burglary, theft.

Claudette Christnot, 57, Presque Isle, burglary, theft, refusing to submit to arrest.

Vincent S. Pelletier, 23, Westfield, assault, two counts.

Robert J. Lindsey III, 19, Presque Isle, assault.

Anthony Torres, 34, Presque Isle, operating a vehicle after revocation of driver’s license.

Jason C. Lozoway, 28, Caribou, operating a vehicle after revocation of driver’s license.

Steven W. Jordan, 53, burglary, theft, stalking, harassment by telephone.

Allen S. Madore, 37, Fort Fairfield, assault, obstructing the reporting of a crime.

Michelle L. Holton, 36, Fort Fairfield, operating a vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants, operating a vehicle beyond license restrictions.

Ryan G. Crouse, 28, Limestone, assault.

John P. St. Thomas, 34, Presque Isle, operating a vehicle after revocation of driver’s license.

Clayton Norton, 54, Caribou, unlawful sexual contact.

Brain Saunders, 19, Caribou, criminal threatening, assault.

Vincent Morrow, 25, Caribou, operating a vehicle after revocation of driver’s license.

Edward F. Skwarka, 45, Woodland, assault, obstructing the reporting of a crime or injury.

Norman Akerson Jr., 42, Caribou, burglary, theft, forgery.

Scott Saucier, 23, Fort Kent, operating after revocation of driver’s license.

Kerry V. Perrin, 25, Sherman Mills, burglary, two counts; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, two counts; and failure to appear, two counts.

Aaron E. Reese, 18, Haynesville, burglary, five counts; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, four counts.

Keith Suitter, 48, Houlton, aggravated marijuana cultivation, possession of firearms by a prohibited person.

Kenneth Michael Bouchard, 43, Oakfield, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
