Can’t buy a graduate

It seems as though every day the taxpayer is bombarded with how much money is spent on incarcerating criminals vs. how little is spent on education. That is like comparing apples and oranges. Lest I be misunderstood, I feel that way too little is spent on education, while way too much is spent on prisons.

First, let us consider the differences. If the criminal element in our society will not finish grade school, just how is it that the liberals expect to convince that same element to attend college simply by throwing money their way? If we are going to increae school funding, let’s do it for those members of our society working to achieve from the sweat of their brows instead of conniving to steal.

As a former law enforcement officer, I can tell you from personal experience, everything cannot be solved by increasing funding. If you think so, look at the amounts of money and gold chains that are found on the bodies of gunned-down drug dealers and the amounts confiscated in drug raids.

So, once again, how can you “buy” a college graduate when you can’t get them to graduate from high school? Foye Terrell Roque Bluffs
