DAMARISCOTTA — The citizens dialogue between the state of Maine and the Russian Republic of Komi will enter a second round when 21 Maine citizens travel to the Soviet Union during September as a part of the Maine-Komi State Bridge Project.

The group will include David Cole of the Eastern Maine Development Corp., of Bangor; Cathryn Bradeen Knox of Family Planning Association of Maine; Dot Roberts Lamson of the Chewonki Foundation; and Larry Pixley, health-care consultant from Orono.

After a visit to Moscow, the Maine delegation will fly to Syktyvkar,. the capitol of Komi. They expect to stay in private homes and enter into the family life of residents as well as tour other regions of the republic. Komi is one of the 16 republics that comprise the Russian Federation, the largest of the Federated Republics of the U.S.S.R., and is located in the northwestern part, just west of the Ural Mountains.

The link between Komi and Maine was made in 1989 when 18 Mainers visited Komi. Fourteen Komi citizens visited Maine this spring.
