Ashland 9, Katahdin 8

At Ashland, Ethan Perry slammed a single over a drawn-in infield to score Darren Belskis from third in the seventh and put the Hornets past the Cougars.

Charles Robinson notched the win, recording 12 strikeouts and walking two. The lefthander also had two doubles and a single. Ethan Perry had two singles and four RBIs.

Katahdin put together a 13-hit attack led by David Brawn’s four singles. Richard Schmidt and Nick McNally each had a double and a single and Willie Sleeper singled twice.

Hodgdon sweeps Limestone

At Hodgdon, Jerry Hanning scored the game-winning run in the first game of a doubleheader and then drove in five runs in the second game to key the Hawks.

Hodgdon won the opener 9-8 and took the second game 16-2.

In the first game, Matt Allen’s inside-the-park home run tied it at 8-8 in the bottom if the seventh inning and then Evan Clark’s sacrifice fly brought home Hanning with the game-winning run.

Jeremy Ireland socked a three-run homer and a single for Hodgdon. Clark, Allen and Hanning each finished with two hits.

For Limestone, Ethan Bagley and Morgan Coghill hit two singles each while Josh Dillon and Brent Tweed each added RBI doubles.

In the second game, Hanning notched the victory and ripped two doubles and a single as the Hawks cruised.

Adam Carter knocked in two runs on a double and triple and Dana Johnson drove in two runs on two singles. Aaron Henderson chipped in with two singles for the Hawks.

For Limestone, Mike Myers and Morgan Coghill each hit a single.

At Harrington, Alan Stanwood ripped two singles and a double in the Knights’ victory over the Blue Devils.

Chad Door hit a double, single, and drove in a run for Narraguagus.

Josh Peter rapped two singles and Bob McManus added an RBI single to pace Calais.
