Sweet gifts
Whether you decide to give them or keep them all for yourself, the treats in Pillsbury’s “Holiday Cookies and Candies” will inspire you to start your holiday baking early. In addition to sweet little Snowman Face cookies and String o’ Lights Almond Wafers, the book also includes instructions for Cookie Mix in a Jar, which makes a pretty gift. The book is available now at supermarket checkout stands, Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target stores.
Icing on the cake
Tupperware’s Gourmet Decorator will make icing all those holiday treats a breeze. It comes with five nozzles, so you can get as fancy as you want to, and its ball shape makes it easy to fill and clean. Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you can use it to spruce up twice-baked potatoes, too. The decorator costs about $15 and is available through Tupperware consultants or online at www.tupperware.com. To find a consultant, call (888) 919-8099.
Winter warmer
If you’re heading to Boston this weekend, check out the Harpoon Christmas Party 2001, sponsored by Harpoon Brewery. There will be live bands, food and plenty of beer inside the heated tent at 306 Northern Ave. The event takes place from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Friday and 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday. Admission costs $10 and includes one beer. For information, call (888) HARPOON, Ext. 3, or visit www.harpoonbrewery.com.
