MILO — Peter W. Hamlin, general manager for the Milo office of United Video Cablevision Inc., has announced changes in billing procedures for customers.
According to Hamlin, beginning Monday, Oct. 1, the company will mail statements to customers each month for cable service to be provided for that month. He said the statements would replace the coupons now used for payment and asked that customers discontinue using the coupons for payments after receiving the first statement in the mail.
Hamlin reminded customers to make checks or money orders payable to United Video Cablevision. He said a pre-addressed payment envelope would be enclosed with each monthly statement. He reminded customers that “cable television is a subscription service, and therefore payments are due in the office upon receipt of the bill each month.”
Hamlin explained that the new billing procedure would permit the company to improve customer service. He said that any change customers make in cable service, such as adding a premium channel, would be reflected in the next month’s statement. He used as an example that the addition of Home Box Office to a customer’s service on Oct. 15 would be reflected in the November billing as well as a prorated charge for HBO from Oct. 15 through Oct. 31.
Hamlin asked people having questions about the new service to contact the customer service department at 943-7323 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
