BAR HARBOR — Applications are being accepted for the new Head Start program in Bar Harbor. The morning preschool is located at the Bar Harbor Day Care Center.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program for 3- to 5-year-old children from income-eligible families. The program also provides family services. Bar Harbor is the 11th Head Start program operated by Action Opportunities Inc. of Ellsworth.

Head Start runs from September to May. The children attend Monday through Thursday mornings. Breakfast and lunch are served daily. Applications may be obtained by stopping by the center or calling 288-3284.
