This is a letter to the residents of the towns of SAD 25. The committee that was organized to look into consolidation of our district schools is planning to hold several public hearings in the three towns plus Mt. Chase. These hearings are going to be held throughout October for the purpose of getting as much information to the voters-taxpayers as possible before the November vote.
The committee is prepared to show three pages of blueprints and a fact sheet on this issue. I believe these will be available at the hearings and also at area churches and grocery stores.
The dates, times and places are are as follows: Oct. 14, Stacyville VFW Hall, 6 p.m.; Oct. 20, Sherman Mills-Sherman gym, 7 p.m.; Oct. 21, Patten gym, 7 p.m. These dates and times may change so I urge you all to watch town bulletin boards and the daily paper for any changes.
Although a date, time or place has not been set yet, I would like to commend the committee for including Mt. Chase in their hearings. Since Mt. Chase does not have a school in their town, the residents are not allowed to vote on SAD 25 issues, therefore the committee doesn’t have to include their town. Marie McNally Sherman Mills
