CHCS recognizes area staff members at annual meeting

BANGOR – Ninety-six staff members and foster parents of Community Health and Counseling Services were honored for their years of service to the agency during its recent 2001 annual meeting.

The staff members, representing more than 700 years of collective service, were recognized for their efforts by CHCS Executive Director Joseph H. Pickering Jr.

Among those honored were three staff members celebrating their 25th anniversaries with CHCS:

. Carol Albright, Bangor Adult Mental Health Services.

. Elaine Mitton, Bangor Health Services.

. Joan Shapleigh, Dover-Foxcroft Adult Mental Health Services.

Pamela Page of Machias-Ellsworth Health Services was recognized for her 20th anniversary.

Others honored were:

Northern Penobscot County: Kenneth W. Putnam, M. Lisa O?Donnell, Janet Nickerson and Karen P. Jones, 10 years; Ryan Witmer, Priscilla York, Hilda Stockley, Roland and Linda Theriault, Ken and Lori Smith, Dennis and Gaynor Sewell, Joe and Betty Quill, Tiffany Merrill, Maynard Jalbert, Diane Hutchinson, Jim and Bertha Hansen, Rachael Golden, Sandra Gilbert, Elizabeth Everett, Noralyn M. Epp, Gregory Curry, Karen Cox, Wendy Cornell and Michelle Arthurs, five years.

Southern Penobscot County: Linda Spearin, Linda Quimby, Diane C. Nelson and Tammy LaFrance, 15 years; Peter Zelz, Wanda Witmer, Debra Wiggin, James J. Welsh, Pamela Taylor, Donna Prescott, Thomas Lynn, Tami Healy, Bruce and Maria Hautala, Brenda Godin, Megan Louise Foran and Jane Folsom, 10 years; Alan L. Young, David Woods, Steven Willey, Doras Tomlinson, Rebecca Rosen, Donnalene Robicheau, Michelle Poirier, Eric Mushlit, Caryn A. Murphy, Brian T. Moynihan, Patricia McKenzie, Marilyn MacDonald, Karie Luce, Terri L. Lewis, Rori Knott, Gerald Johnston, John Johnson, Randy and Jennifer Hogan, Janet Fielding, Katherine Edwards, James Carter, Peter Bishop, Karen Beaton and Anne Atwood, five years.

The CHCS board of directors also elected officers: president, Timothy C. Woodcock; first vice president, Glenn D. Goodwin; second vice president, Dr. Beatrice Szantyr; secretary, James F. Cox; and treasurer, Charles F. Bragg II.

Community Health and Counseling Services is a nonprofit home health and mental health agency serving children, adults and families throughout northern, eastern and central Maine.
