GORHAM – Julie Bernier scored an unassisted goal at 18:47 of the first period here Tuesday to lead the University of Southern Maine to a 1-0 field hockey victory over Plymouth State College.

Kim Shaw made six saves on 11 shots for the 6-0 Huskies.

Gina Spagone had five saves on 20 shots for the 4-1-1 Panthers.
