EAST SULLIVAN – Jake King scored five points in overtime, including a 3-for-3 effort from the free-throw line, to lead the Ellsworth Eagles to a 66-65 schoolboy basketball win over the Sumner Tigers Monday.
Ellsworth’s John Morse nailed a 3-pointer as time expired to force the extra period.
Morse finished with 20 points, King recorded 16, and Adam Smith chipped in with 13.
Junior guard Jamey Polk sparked the Tigers with 31 points and Justin Winslow contributed 11.

At Presque Isle Saturday, Nick Casavant poured in 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lift the Wildcats over the Warriors of Newport.
Matt Fortin and Denis Saucier added 15 apiece and Ryan Graves put in 12 for Presque Isle.
For Nokomis, Ryan McLellan recorded 26 points and Trenton Estes had 16, including five 3-pointers.
