ORONO – Darrin Daniels smacked a solo home run to help Orono roll by Brewer 12-3 in American Legion baseball action Wednesday night.

Daniels added a single a double for two RBIs. Jamie Kennedy drove in three runs on three singles. Aaron Turcotte hit a three-run double and Aaron Civiello singled three times.

Peter Saunders led the Falcons with an RBI double. doubled for Brewer.

Bangor splits

At Bangor, Bangor pinch runner Shawn Bouchard scored from third on a Calais error with one out in the bottom of the seventh as Bangor won the first game of a doubleheader 4-3 before Calais came back to win the second game 12-9.

In the first game, Bangor closer Travis Brooker pitched two scoreless innings to earn his second win, while David Utterback paced the Comrades with two singles, a double, and two RBIs.

Josh Porter and Ryan Fox led Calais with two singles.

In the second game, Calais was paced by Josh Thornton, who singled and doubled, and Mike Fergerson and Fox, who each had two singles.

Danny Chadbourne led Bangor with two singles and two doubles for two RBIs.

At Ellsworth, Adam Meyer tripled and drove in five runs as Trenton clinched a berth in next weekend’s Zone 2 tournament.

Mike Worcester doubled twice, singled and drove in two runs for the Acadians, John Lewandowski contributed two singles and Mike Sirois tripled. Toby Cole earned the win.

Ryan White drove in Hermon’s run in the fourth, while Brock Hartford added two singles.

Big Easy 5, Worcester Peat 1

At Standish, Joey O’Brien struck out 15 and scattered six hits and Bill Fullerton keyed a five-run fifth with an RBI single for the Big Easy of Portland in Twilight League action.

Shawn McKenna singled twice and drove in one for the Big Easy.

Marc Halsted led Worcester Peat with two singles and stole home for their only run. Chris Knickerbocker singled twice.
