DETROIT – The Central Maine-based Maine Coast 15-and-under boys AAU basketball team recently went 6-3 in the National AAU tourney in Detroit, taking second place honors after falling to New Orleans. In their run to the finals, Maine downed the national No. 1-seeded team from California, the No. 9 team from Michigan, and the No. 11 Missouri club among others. Maine is ranked No. 16th in the country out of 104 teams. The team’s record for the 1997-98 season is 26-4.
