Chief Warden Pilot Wolverton retires

AUGUSTA – The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife announced Chief Warden Pilot Roger E. Wolverton’s retirement on Tuesday, effective Friday.

Wolverton, 50, has been a warden pilot since 1991. He was promoted to Chief Pilot in 1996. Prior to his appointment to the position of Warden Pilot, Wolverton served as a district warden for seven years and Game Warden Sargeant for 10 years.

Wolverton is a native of Brewer, where he graduated from Brewer High School. He earned an associate degree from Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, N.C. Wolverton also served in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force.
