Harvest market, hayrides and crafts show to highlight chamber of commerce festival

CAMDEN — The annual fall festival sponsored by the Rockport-Camden-Lincolnville Chamber of Commerce will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7. Featured will be an arts and crafts show where more than 50 crafts people from the New England and local area will display their wares on the lawn of the library and Bok Amphitheater.

Pumpkins and local produce will be featured at a Harvest Market. There will be hayrides for all ages and children’s attractions at Harbor Park, including face and pumpkin painting, story telling and an acorn hunt. Entertainment will be by the Lincolnville German Band.

A food fair will feature such delicacies as knockwurst and sauerkraut, fresh cider and doughnuts, hot chocolate and ice cream.

As part of the festival each year, Camden Farmer’s Union presents awards in its annual pumpkin-growing contest. This year 116 local families picked up seeds for the contest. Winners will be announced Saturday, Oct. 6.
