Today’s return of the Football Forecast for the 33rd season features record-setting guest Kevin Hewes. Last Season, Hewes became the first-ever person to win the guest crown three years in a row.
The guest champion is asked to defend his crown each season and Hewes will be seeking to add to his record.
Hewes is a computer support representative for Dead River Co. in Bangor. He is a 1989 Brewer High graduate and an ’94 graduate of Husson College in Bangor. He and his wife Catherine live in Holden.
Pete Warner, who has added assistant sports editor responsibilities to his writing duties, captured his fifth Forecast title last season.
Warner emerged from a tight staff race to compile a 157-43 record for a .785 percentage over the 10-week Forecast.
Warner faces challenges from veterans Larry Mahoney and Dave Barber, who have won three and two titles, respectively. High school writer Andrew Neff has collected one crown.
