Maine Mutual Fire Insurance Co., based in Presque Isle, has promoted Stacy Shaw to assistant manager of information systems. Shaw began his career at Maine Mutual in 1998 as a computer programmer. In January 2000 he was promoted to programmer-analyst, and in November 2000 he was promoted to senior systems analyst-engineer. Shaw will assist in managing the company’s information systems department.

Maine PBS has hired Heidi Perkins as a television editor-director. Perkins, of Liberty, will be responsible for editing the upcoming new episodes of the Maine PBS science series, “Quest.” She also will edit staple programs such as “Made in Maine” and “True North,” as well as specials such as “Remembering Pearl Harbor.” Before joining Maine PBS, Perkins was a free-lance film editor for PBS’ “Anyplace Wild,” “National Geographic Explorer” and the Discovery Channel.

Maine Public Radio has promoted Susan Chisholm to deputy news director. Chisholm will assist with planning daily news coverage, assignments, and operation of the newsroom, and fill in for the news directors as necessary.

Union Trust Co. has hired Mary Silverman as branch supervisor in Bar Harbor, Bonnie Lash as vice president and relationship manager in Waldoboro, and Ron Hamilton as a financial consultant in its newest division, Cornerstone Investment Services, based out of the main office in Ellsworth.

Although Silverman is new to banking, she brings more than five years of retail experience, three of which were in retail management. Before joining Union Trust, Silverman was manager at Rite Aid in Bar Harbor for almost two years.

Lash began her career in banking 20 years ago at the Waldoboro Bank as a teller. During her eight years there she worked in various departments and became vice president of mortgage lending.

She then joined First National Bank of Damariscotta as vice president and senior mortgage officer. She also worked in real estate seven years.

Hamilton has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He began his career in 1976 as an agent with Prudential Insurance in Portsmouth, N.H.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maine.

Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker has promoted Cindy Morin, CPA, to health care manager for the firm. Morin concentrates on serving the health care industry, particularly providing audit and consulting services to acute care hospitals statewide. She is involved in the regulatory aspects of the health care industry, such as the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker has hired Ellen Donahue as a consulting manager. Her expertise is in Medicare reimbursement issues and specialty filings. Donahue brings significant experience to the BDMP cost reporting efforts and third-party analyses provided to health care clients statewide. Before joining BDMP,

Donahue was with Quorum Health Resources since 1993, working as the health financing resources director. She has a 25-year career in hospitals, primarily in the reimbursement area.
