Monticello warden wins national recognition

MONTICELLO – Game Warden Lt. Mike Marshall of Monticello was honored recently by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund as its officer of the month.

Marshall is featured on the NLEOMF Web site and will be featured on the NLEOMF calendar in December 2003 with a picture and a biography.

Marshall is lieutenant of Division E of the Maine Warden Service, with headquarters in Ashland. He was promoted to that position from the rank of sergeant five years ago. He has been a game warden for 24 years, starting as a district warden in the Grand Lake Stream area.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Municipal Fund is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s law enforcement officers. The NLEOMF officer of the month program recognizes federal, state and local officers who distinguish themselves through exemplary law enforcement service and devotion to duty.
