Snowmobile ride raises $114,640

GREENVILLE – The fifth annual Ricky Craven benefit snowmobile ride raised a record-setting $114,640 for its five charities Saturday.

Nancy Craven, the NASCAR Winston Cup driver’s mother, said there were approximately 500 sleds at the event. The trail went around Moosehead Lake. The ride has raised more than $350,000 over five years.

The charities receiving the funds are the Marrow Foundation, Maine’s Children’s Miracle Network, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire and Maine, the Travis Roy Foundation and Give Kids the World!

Craven, who won his first NASCAR race last season, has started preparing for the upcoming season with the Budweiser Shootout scheduled for Feb. 10 and the Daytona 500 set for Feb. 17.

Craven’s snowmobile ride was sponsored by Arctic Cat, Wallace & Associates Financial Service and Tide Racing.
