Candidates seek posts in midcoast

CAMDEN — Three candidates will vie for two seats on Camden’s Board of Selectmen in voting June 8.

With the period for submission of nomination papers closed, the ballot is set. Peter Gross, chairman of the board, will not seek re-election. The seat held by Brian Keefe is expired, but Keefe will seek re-election. Also running are Paul Cartwright and Susan Dorr. The seats carry three-year terms.

The annual town meeting is scheduled for June 9.

In Rockport, incumbent Selectmen Gary Leighton and Molly Sholes are not seeking re-election. Ronald Moore, Michael McAvoy and Peter Hall are the three candidates vying for the two open seats.

Lynn Johnson is the only candidate for a seat on the SAD 28 board. That seat is now held by Taylor Allen. Allen will not seek re-election.

John Sherman and Howard Dearborn are the only two candidates for four open seats on the town budget committee.

Voting in Rockport is also June 8, with the annual town meeting June 9.

In Lincolnville, incumbent Selectmen Charles Boetsch and Ernest Littlefield are seeking re-election but are challenged by Betty Johnson and Charles Readinger. The seats carry three-year terms.

Four candidates are seeking two open seats on the school committee. Incumbent Edmund Hartt, along with Judith Schelble, Laura Greeley and Stacy Foss will be on the ballot for the three-year terms.

Voting in Lincolnville is June 8, and the annual town meeting is on June 15.

In Hope, incumbent Selectmen John Annis and John Wilson will seek re-election, while John Monroe will not. Edgar Crowley and Jerry Litzerman are the challengers. The seats carry three-year terms. Jill Lang is the only candidate for a three-year term on the school committee.
