Young powers Central

CORINTH – Deb Young accomplished a rare feat Friday when she hit for the cycle in powering the Central Red Devils to a 23-5 schoolgirl softball victory over the Searsport Vikings Friday.

Young cranked a grand slam, tripled, doubled and singled and finished with six RBIs.

Missy Krawczyk went 5-for-5 with three singles, two doubles and three RBIs for the winners. Crystal Strout singled twice and homered to drive in five runs.

Michelle Murphy hit an RBI double and singled for the Vikings. Laura Howlger singled twice.

At East Millinocket, Garnet Korsman no-hit the Wolverines, striking out four and walking one.

Nicole Goulette singled twice, doubled and drove in two runs for the Pirates of Guilford. Greta Korsman added two singles and two RBIs.

At Bangor, Jamie Kenny had a double, single and two RBIs to power the Rams.

Sam Warner added a double and single and Kori Dionne tripled and had two singles.

Nicole Palmer roped a two-run triple for the Warriors of Newport, while Miranda Johndro slapped two singles.

At Mount Desert Island, Crystal Graves had three singles, a triple and four RBIs to power the Trojans.

At Millinocket, Sara Haney recorded four hits, three runs and five RBIs to power the Eagles past the Minutemen.

Haney hit a two-run home run in the second inning, a triple and two singles. Linsey Harmon singled twice and added a double for four RBIs. George Stevens pitcher Brooke Keniston retired 12 batters in a row.

Nicole Duplisea paced Stearns with a leadoff triple and scored on an single by Shannon Sirois. Duplisea also singled in the fifth inning.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Ellsworth’s 10-hit attack was led by Lyndsy Patten, who tripled and added two RBIs.

Jodi Merchant tripled and singled for the Eagles. Jessica Johnston had two singles, Rachel Smallidge and Renee Saunders each doubled.

Shauna Gentry tripled and slapped two singles for the Ponies while Sherrie Zimmerman had two singles.

At Husson College in Bangor, Kristen Legere hit a triple, a double and a single for five RBIs as the Crusaders got by the Hawks.

John Bapst’s Laura Roach singled twice to drive in two runs.

Lindsay Duplisea led Hermon with a double and two singles for a total of four RBIs. Jodi Reynolds drove in three runs on two doubles and a single.

At Lee, Jenny Raymond drove in the game-winner with a two-run double with two-outs in the bottom of the seventh.

Raymond finished with a double, single and three RBIs for the winners. Leah Moore singled three times and added three RBIs. Ashley Beaulieu hit an RBI double and singled.

Kim Mann hit a solo homer and singled for the Cougars of Sherman Station.

Paul Decentis singled twice for the Wolverines and Shawn Rosebush added an RBI single.

Derek Smith doubled and hit an RBI single for Piscataquis of Guilford. Scott DeCastro hit an RBI double.

At Corinth, Nate Hall and Ben Relyea each homered as the Vikings cruised.

Hall had two RBIs to go with his homer and Relyea scored three runs, while Rod Damond singled three times and Aaron Tripp added a triple and a single.

Adam Silvia paced Central of Corinth with a double, two singles and two RBIs. Billy Kane had three singles and two RBIs.

Mac Jackson paced George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill with two doubles and two RBIs.
