BELFAST – A two-run homer by Waldo County’s Josh Pooler snapped Hermon’s undefeated record with a 4-2 American Legion baseball victory Tuesday night.
After a one-out walk to Brandon Hurd in the third inning, Pooler took Hermon pitcher Randy Klug deep.
Hurd also hit a solo home run to lead off the game for the Wildcats, and Nate Hall had two singles and an RBI.
For Hermon, Calvin Teixiera had three singles and an RBI, and Derrek Smith hit two singles and picked up an RBI. Kluj added a triple.

Bangor 8, Calais 1
At Bangor, the Comrades pounded out 11 hits, including five in the first inning, en route to an 8-1 victory over the Suns.
Bangor racked up six runs in the first and never looked back. Shawn Bouchard led the rally with a two-run single. David Utterback and Jeremy Karam also had RBI singles in the first.
Matt Soucie contributed to the cause with a solo home run. Barrett Dionne added a pair of singles.
For Calais, Nate Holst had an RBI single. Josh Porter, Alex Nickolas, and Scott MacDonald each singled.
