WASHBURN – Josh Worsley netted an unassisted goal with 20:29 left in the game to lift Washburn to a 2-1 victory over Ashland Wednesday in schoolboy soccer action.
Shawn Bragg tied the game with 20:15 left in the first half when he scored off an assist from Frank Plucker. Ben Umphrey made seven saves on 12 shots for the 10-4 Beavers.
Rustin Lovewell scored 5:48 into the game with an assist by Darren Ham. Eric Ham stopped 16 of the 24 shots he faced for 3-4 Ashland.
Central Aroostook 3, Easton 2
At Mars Hill, Shane Bradstreet scored with 7:38 left in the game to break a 2-2 tie and lead the Panthers to the win.
Bradstreet added another goal and Scott Mullen recorded a goal and an assist. Jordan Codrey had an assist and A.J. Wiggins made 11 saves on 20 shots for 7-4 Central Aroostook.
Andrew Perry and Matt Osgood each scored a goal for the 4-9 Bears. Derek Carlow and Ryan Lamoreau each tallied an assist and Jeff Blackstone stopped nine of the 14 shots he saved, including one on a penalty kick.
Schenck 2, Lee 1
At East Millinocket, Seth Johnston scored off a Ben Jamo assist with 12 minutes left in the second half to give Schenck the win.
Chad McLaughlin converted a Jamo assist for the 3-2 Wolverines and Mike Rossignol stopped five of six shots.
Dustin Pickering scored off a Matt Corbin assist for 4-2 Lee, while Adam Ham stopped 10 of 12 shots for the Pandas.
Machias 2, Sumner 0
At Machias, Micah Hall and Peter Whitney netted a goal apiece to pace the Bulldogs.
Joe Richards recorded an assist on Hall’s goal. Kevin Loughlin made seven saves on 14 shots for 4-0 Machias.
Jimmy Malloy stopped 11 of the 18 shots he faced for the 0-4 Tigers of East Sullivan.
Piscataquis 3, Dexter 0
At Dexter, Buddy Leavitt earned the shutout with 15 saves on 15 shots as the Pirates rolled.
Randy Burgess and Scott DeCastro scored unassisted goals for Piscataquis Community of Guilford and DeCastro assisted on a Ryan Cunningham score.
Brian Hersey stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced for the Tigers.
Penquis 5, DI-Stonington 1
At Milo, Jeremy Allen notched two goals to lead the Patriots to the win.
Eric Ballash recorded a goal and two assists. Mike Weston converted a penalty kick and added an assist and Travis Ellis scored a goal for 4-1 Penquis. Matt Pokrywka and Paul Kusnierz combined for four saves on nine shots.
Matt Bye tallied an unassisted goal for the 0-5 Mariners. Andy Bye made 12 saves on 29 shots.
Orono 4, Nokomis 1
At Orono, Daryl Watson netted all four goals in the Red Riots’ victory.
Morgan Stinson recorded two assists and Ben Barry and Nat Breece each added one assist. Mark Mehuren stopped all of the eight shots he faced for 2-2-1 Orono.
For the Warriors of Newport, Dave Richards scored one unassisted goal. Tyler Peters made 12 saves on 17 shots for 1-3-1 Nokomis.

Central 3, Penobscot Valley 2
At Corinth, Ryan Bean scored unassisted with 14 minutes left in the second half to lift the Red Devils past the Howlers.
Justin Ladd converted a penalty kick and Andy Koncinsky scored off a Bill Kane assist. James Nickerson made six saves on 14 shots for 3-2 Central.
Brad Thibodeau scored a goal and assisted on Heath Lemay’s goal. Justin Cloukey stopped eight of the 24 goals he faced for 1-3 Penobscot Valley of Howland.
Islesboro 9, Chop Point 4
At Islesboro, Gavin Harkins and Ryan Grindle each scored two goals to fuel the Eagles.
Elek Miller, Ian Gallant, Jon Bolduc, Andrew Leach and Ken Frank all scored goals, while Annie Bolduc, Frank, and Leach each tallied an assist. Gallant had four assists. Tiger Bell and Rori Diffin combine for two saves on six shots for 2-0 Islesboro.
Tyler Hodkins scored for 0-1 Chop Point of Woolwich. Tim Irons scored three goals and Sam Woodman stopped 10 of 19 shots.
George Stevens 7, Bucksport 1
At Blue Hill, Jon Lewandowski paced the Eagles with three goals as GSA cruised to the win.
Dan Read and Mark Clapp each scored two goals and Frank Limeburner, Travis Bannister, Seth Kearns, and Gilberto Benevides recorded an assist each. Isaac Chittenden made five saves on nine shots.
Tyson Grindle scored the Golden Bucks’ lone goal and was assisted by Pat LaLonde. Kyle Howard stopped five of the 21 shots he faced.
John Bapst 2, Old Town 0
At Eastern Maine Technical College in Bangor, Nate Susi scored two goals to give the Crusaders the win.
Regan Leblanc and Zev Myerowitz each added an assist, while Bill Chapman stopped seven of 11 shots for 3-2 John Bapst of Bangor.
John Graves and Tim Dolley combined for two saves on nine shots for the 3-1-1 Indians.

Washburn 2, Ashland 2
At Washburn, Elizabeth Howard and Vanessa Sellars each netted an unassisted goal for the Beavers.
Goalie Crystal Blakeney stopped eight of the 12 shots she faced for 6-5-3 Washburn.
For the 1-4-1 Hornets, Sarah Dwyer scored once and Amanda Martin scored on a penalty kick. Kim Oakes faced 12 shots, stopping 8 of them.
Houlton 6, Caribou 1
At Caribou on Tuesday, Kelly Socoby and Danielle Hagerman both scored twice to fuel the Shiretowners’ win.
Arelle Griffin and Sarah Beasley also scored for Houlton, while Sylvia Brown stopped 11 of 12 shots.
Samantha Grief scored for 1-5 Caribou and Ashley Monahan made 18 saves on 24 shots for the Blue Devils.
Field Hockey
Hermon 5, Bangor 0
At Hermon, Monica Rowe knocked in two goals and added two assists in the Hawks’ victory.
Rowe assisted on goals by Tonya Laughlin and Andrea Cyr. Briana Lane added an unassisted goal for Hermon. Kacie Hutchinson stopped all four shots she faced.
Allison Frazier made 42 saves on 47 shots for the Rams.
