BOSTON – Viktoriya Rybalko of the University of Maine was selected as the Women’s Most Outstanding Performer during Saturday’s America East Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Boston University.

Rybalko, a junior from Zaporzhye, Ukraine, took first place in the long jump and the triple jump to help the Black Bears finish in fifth place.

Rybalko won the long jump with a leap of 6.07 meters and took the triple jump by covering 12.80 meters. She was UMaine’s only event winner.

The Northeastern men and BU women won the league’s team titles. The Maine men placed fifth and the Maine women also finished fifth.

Princeton 3, Maine 1

At Orono Saturday, Princeton racked up all three of its goals in the second period en route to the victory over Maine.

Gretchen Anderson, Lisa Rasmussen and Jessica Fedderly fired in a goal apiece for the 14-6-3 Tigers. Aviva Grumet-Morris tallied three assists and Susan Hobson and Melissa Deland had an assist each. Goalie Magan Van Beusekom stopped 27 of 28 shots.

For the 14-13-3 Black Bears, Cindy Biron scored on a pass from Meagan Aarts. Amanda Cronin made 23 saves on 26 shots.

At Waterville Sunday, Andrew Clavette poured in 22 points and Morris Young and Stafford Bente added 12 and 11, respectively, as UM-Fort Kent toppled Thomas.
