CUTLER — Joseph Wood, firefighter at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Cutler Fire Department, has been selected as Civilian of the Quarter for the third quarter 1999.

Wood has continually performed at a level exceeding what is expected of him in all aspects of his duties, according to Public Affairs Officer E.A. Robinson. The firefighter has given tours of the fire station, led fire prevention and safety classes, especially for local children in the community.

Wood recently was recognized by the Machias Volunteer Fire Department with an award for his consistently outstanding reliability and performance.
