AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Transportation is planning to reconstruct part of Casey Road and to construct a new, partial interchange at Casey Road and I-95 in Benedicta and Herseytown townships.
The partial interchange would provide a northbound off-ramp on the east side of I-95 south of Casey Road in Benedicta Township and a southbound on-ramp on the west side of I-95 south of Casey Road in Herseytown Township. Plans also call for reconstruction of about 0.9 mile of Casey Road beginning just west of I-95 and extending east to Aroostook Road.
Preparation for this project would include acquisition of sufficent right of way to accommodate the future construction of two additional ramps north of Casey Road.
A plan of the proposed improvements is available for public inspection in the county commissioner’s office at the Arooostrook County Courthouse in Caribou during normal business hours.
