BUCKSPORT – Abram Allard’s fourth-inning RBI single produced the game-winning run as Brewer held off Waldo County 9-8 in American Legion baseball action Thursday night.
Waldo County had scored seven runs in the top of the fourth to tie the Falcons at 8-8.
Rick McHale led off the fourth for Brewer with a double, and Joel Barrett followed with a single to move him to third. One out later, Allard’s single scored McHale.
The game was called after six innings due to darkness.
Allard finished with a double, single, and three RBIs. Barrett had a double, single, and two RBIs, and McHale contributed a double and single.
For the Wildcats, Aaron Tripp smacked a three-run homer in the fourth and a single. Mike MacDonald added three singles.

At Blue Hill, Toby Cole blasted a fifth-inning grand slam to spark the Acadians over Calais.
Cole also rapped a pair of singles. Jason Weed contributed a pair of doubles and three RBIs, while Derek Awalt clouted a two-run homer in the seventh.
For the Suns, Kevin Loughlin, Tony Alviar and Cliff Urquhart each singled.

At Old Town, Jeremy Karam went 4-for-4, including two doubles and three RBIs, as the Comrades downed the Twins.
Bangor’s Travis Brooker scattered four hits and fanned seven. Chris Bombardier and Josh Johnson contributed to the offense with two singles apiece.
Jason Folsom led Orono with a two-run homer in the first.
