In the only matchup of former UMaine basketball stars during this WNBA season, Cindy Blodgett’s Sacramento Monarchs and Jamie Cassidy’s Miami Sol will play each other tonight in Sacramento, Calif.

Blodgett, a 5-foot-9 guard, is averaging 2.5 points in 6.6 minutes of play this summer. Six-foot-3 center Cassidy has been averaging 3.6 points in 8.1 minutes per game overall, but her numbers have improved over the last four games to 12.7 minutes and 6.7 points.

The Monarchs are 18-10 and third in the Western Conference. The Sol is 10-17 and sixth in the East.
