WISCASSET – A clean running of Saturday’s 35-lap Pro Stock feature race saw Jeff Burgess of Oakland grab the lead on a lap two restart and hold on for good to highlight weekend racing action at Wiscasset Raceway.
Burgess shot into the lead after the only caution flag of the race in turn two as Doug White’s car spun and pole-sitter Paul Pierce apparently missed a shift.
Lincolnville’s Pierce recovered in time to settle into second, but Scott Chubbuck of Wiscaset pulled to the inside in turn two of lap 18 to wrest the runner-up position away for good. Fourth place went to Jim Kaler of Newcastle and fifth to Puncin St. Clair of Liberty.
