MINNEAPOLIS – Jacque Jones drove in a career-high five runs, Matt Kinney enjoyed a solid outing, and the Minnesota Twins overcame Rafael Palmeiro’s 399th career homer to defeat the Texas Rangers 15-7 Tuesday night.

Palmeiro hit his 38th homer of the season, moving into a tie with Al Kaline for 32nd on the career list.

Former Bangor High star Kinney (2-2) allowed four runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings to beat Ryan Glynn (5-5), who gave up nine runs – seven earned – and 12 hits in three-plus innings. Kinney walked four and struck out one.

Jones, who was 2-for-4, hit a three-run homer and a two-run single for Minnesota, which has won three straight for the first time since July 24-27.

Cristian Guzman was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and rookie Luis Rivas was 4-for-6 with two RBIs as the Twins set season highs for runs and hits (20).
