CHERRYFIELD – Applications are being accepted for the Maine Association of Resource Conservation and Development’s three AmeriCorps VISTA positions for the 2002 Maine Senior Farm Share program.

The application deadline is today, and applications may be applied for online at www.americorps.org.

Recruitment is final on Friday, March 29.

The Maine Senior Citizen Farm Share program aims to improve low-income senior citizens’ nutrition by providing locally grown fruits and vegetables through “farm shares.” The system benefits both the farmers and recipients by paying farmers $100 per elderly recipient’s share at the beginning of the growing season to grow fresh produce.
