More troubles surface for Biddeford Textile

BIDDEFORD – The financially troubled Biddeford Textile Corp. has been sued by a container company for not paying its bills.

Volk Packaging Corp., which has supplied corrugated boxes to the mill regularly during the past 20 years, said the blanket company owes $32,000 for corrugated boxes it purchased over the past four months and nearly $57,000 for rented storage space and utilities.

The container company has had a long-term relationship with the mill, said Douglas Volk, the company’s president.

“It was a very difficult decision for us to make,” he said. “We were very disappointed. … I would say it was a business decision.”
