GUILFORD – A local man was charged Tuesday for possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
John Spack, 36, will make his initial court appearance on the charges Dec. 11 in 13th District Court.
Police had initially gone to Spack’s Water Street home to find a suspect in a burglary that they believed might be at an apartment in the residence, said Investigator Allen Emerson of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department. The officer said the burglary occurred over the weekend at Casey’s Store in Parkman, where returnable bottles were stolen.
While the burglary suspect was not found at the apartment, police did see some drug paraphernalia on a table inside Spack’s home, Emerson said.
A search warrant was obtained and Spack’s house was searched. The officer said a number of marijuana smoking devices, a small amount of marijuana and a “fair amount” of marijuana seeds were confiscated, he said.
