BAR HARBOR – With an early shortage of the flu vaccine resolved, Mount Desert Island Hospital and the MDI Community Health Plan have scheduled community flu clinics.
The vaccine is necessary for people such as the elderly or health care providers who are at risk for flu complications.
The immunization costs $8 per person, but those receiving Medicaid or Medicare may receive the shot without cost. Special arrangements will be made for at-risk patients of low income.
